We recommend reading the Quick Guide first that will make things mentioned here easier to follow. Map callout areas have been used for referencing. We have tried to make points that can be applied in Freelance/Squads. However, it can be difficult to apply some points in Freelance.

The perch behind the basket is the safest place to play this wave. The ramp leading up to it functions as a choke point where the Chums are forced to funnel into a single lane. See Figure A
If egg running is becoming difficult or teammates are getting splatted in the drop area, there is a long thin wall which should be painted before any wave for this exact event. If the Glowflies are targeting you jump onto this wall, it will allow you to buy some time to let teammates run eggs or revive them. If you paint the part at the top as well, you can move left and right so the Chum move back and forth. See Figure B
If you have a Roller weapon, a more advanced strategy to maximise eggs is to position yourself at the doorway that the horde are approaching from. Hold ZR and the Chums will be instantly splatted. When you see a Goldie approach while still holding ZR, quickly angle your roller away to let the Goldie get closer to basket and allow your teammates to splat it and collect the eggs. This would work in an organised squad, however for Freelance the strategy in Figure A is much safer. See Figure C

If a Griller spawns from the grates the player that is targeted should stand to the right of the basket so it comes from the right instead of the left. If it is the first Griller it can be splatted in the middle of the house. Later in the wave it may be difficult to adopt the same luring strategy by making Grillers come from the right side however once it gets closer move to the perch and as the Griller passes by shoot the tail. See Figure A
If a Griller spawns from the docks the targeted player should stand behind the basket as the Griller is coming up the slope jump to the perch and the Griller will turn away exposing it’s tail for an easy stun. Alternatively behind the basket there is a thin wall that you can wall cling to and as the Griller gets closer jump off onto the perch, stun the Griller when it turns away. Only wall cling to turn the Griller do not hang there and rely on others to shoot the Griller. Wall cling to the left side of that thin wall closest to the basket otherwise the Griller may move up to the perch which you want to avoid. See Figure B
